The Simpsons Are Not The Ideal Parenting Tool

Remember the episode of The Simpson's where Reverend Lovejoy's daughter, Jessica, comes home, steals the Collection Plate money and leaves Bart to take the blame?

Ok, so if you're not an obsessive fan like me, this should still make sense.

Sunday night Mr Bond and Skye are watching the end of The Simpson's, I am in the kitchen finishing off dinner (home made lasagne in case you were wondering). The scene on screen is showing a busted Jessica Lovejoy on her hands and knees, scrubbing the steps in front of the church.

Seeing an opportunity to teach Skye a lesson in behaviour the conversation goes like this:

Mr Bond: See the little girl scrubbing the floor? That's what happens to little girls who are naughty.

Skye: Mummy scrubs the floor. Mummy's naughty.

Mr Bond: dissolves into fits of laughter.

Yeah, thanks for that.

I guess I am still being punished for all those Collection Plates I stole during childhood...
