Busted–The Jig Is Up

Way back in April 2010 when I first started this blog I opted not to tell Mr Bond about it. I wasn’t sure if it was something I would enjoy doing or if I would have to time to make a real go of it and at the time, I really had no idea what was involved! It’s been a steep learning curve to say the least. The months went by, Mr Bond took a contract for work that had him living away from home all week and before I knew it, I had an established blog with a steady following, I had made many connections with other wonderful bloggers and readers, some of whom I consider to be close friends and even done a sponsored post. Things were going swimmingly but it had got to a point where I knew I would have to tell Mr Bond what all the computer/Facebook/Twitter/messaging was about, surely he had been wondering. My biggest concern was trying to figure out how to bring it up in the first place without looking like some crazy lady that shares every last detail of our lives with people she has never even met, and what the whole point of it was.

Fortunately the problem was taken care of last week thanks to Beer Wench Friend (Hi Bel!) who while serving Mr Bond and his friends beers at the local club, mentioned how much she enjoyed reading my blog. Busted. Since he had no idea what she was talking about he asked me about it when he got home. I still don’t think he really knew what a blog was, but it was Friday afternoon and we were both too tired for a show and tell presentation so nothing more was really said about it. I was however relieved that he knew about it and that Beer Wench Friend had said such nice things so didn’t just sound like I was wasting my time on something no one else cares about. Now that would be embarrassing.

Actually it didn’t get mentioned again at all until the following Wednesday. I had been wanting to show him a bit of what is on the blog but with work, Skye, arsenic hour etc there just hadn’t been the opportunity. That was until Mr Bond saw a screen shot of the Valentine’s Day post and clicked on it. Talk about a rude introduction! Of all the 200-odd posts I have done, THAT was the one he read?!?!? I watched as his eyebrows got higher and higher and I am sure he was a little offended at first, but once he saw all of the positive comments underneath he realised that blogs aren’t just a place for us to put down our partners, it was meant in fun, and really, he couldn’t accuse me of making any of it up.

He did remind me that he had brought the washing in for me earlier that week though…
